Space Availability - Cooper Memorial Library

1.    Reservations are required for ALL study rooms, and rooms are not to be entered prior to your reserved time, even those that appear vacant. While reservations can be created up to 3 days in advance, please confirm within 1 hour of making your reservation to avoid automatic cancellation.

2.     All patrons/students reserving study room space at Cooper Memorial Library must:

a. Be age 14 or older.

b. Possess a current Lake-Sumter State College XID number or a valid Lake County Library Card in good standing that has been issued in your own name (if you enter an invalid number or a number belonging to someone else, you may be barred from using the space).

c. Be present at check-in and remain present for the duration of the reservation. Leaving the study room for longer than 15 minutes will result in the cancellation of the remainder of your reservation.

3.     Reservations may not exceed more than 3 hours, only one session per day, and not more than 3 sessions per week, per group. Likewise, groups may not obtain additional time by having different members of the group extend the reservation for another 2–3-hour session.

4.     All must check in at the reference desk or self-check-in on their device prior to using a study room. Failure to check-in within 15 minutes of your reservation start time will result in forfeiture of your reservation.

5.     Individuals and groups are expected to vacate and check-out at the reference desk immediately after their allotted time or vacate 30 minutes prior to the library closing, whichever comes first.

6.     The responsibility for the room lies with the individual who reserved the room; therefore, individuals and groups must agree and adhere to the terms and conditions of the study room procedures and the Library Rules of Conduct.

7.     Study rooms are to be left as they are found, and furniture may not be brought into or removed from a study room.

8.     Study rooms are intended for traditional study, discussion, or informal group meetings. They are not intended for individual or small group testing. The library cannot guarantee extra time if your test takes longer than expected.

9.     There is no guarantee of a silent atmosphere inside the study rooms due to their proximity to one another; however, users are asked to be respectful of library operations and other users regarding the library’s conduct policy for noise and disruption.

10.     Study rooms are prohibited to serve as a permanent public meeting location for any individual or group, a place of office, or for conducting for-profit business.

11.     The library is not responsible for any personal items left in the rooms. Items left for more than 15 minutes may be removed.

12.   The library reserves the right to cancel any reservations. If you have any questions, please contact the library at 352-536-2275.

13.   No food or drinks are permitted in the study rooms.
